The last TTLA , mobility C4 took place in Písek, Czech Republic from the 8 - 14 April (including 2 days for travelling). In this mobility 17 students and 9 techers from partner countries took part.
The mai goal of the last meeting was to create the photovoltaic panel at our school with mutual cooperation of all students and under the guidence of the local expert at photovoltaic energy Mr. Kropáček.. All students could practically experience how solar energy comes into being and could consider the isssue of production and efficiency of a small photovoltaic panel. |
During learning, teaching, training activities in the Czech Republic students were involved in the active workshops. Our main goal was to create a real authentic photovoltaic panel that could be used later as a teching tool for Physics teachers and students. As our school is a vocational type of school, it does not provide thorough Education in Physics. Therefore we had to hire a solar energy specialist, Mr. Miroslav Kropáček, who helped us to buy necessary material. Then theoretical and practical workshops were held where students prepared competitions, quiz, and instructions how to assemble a real functioning photovoltaic panel. |
During mobility C4 each team from different country had an opportunity to be part of creating this panel.
After being for certain time at our school, the panel was lent to Secondary Technical School where it serves as the tuition tool. In this way our project got into the awareness of minds of other secondary schools and is the perfect model of dissemination of our project. The next objectivi during mobility C4 was visit to Temelin Power Station. Students could compare the two sources of energy (solar and nuclear) and consider positive and negative aspects of them. At the same time they dealt with the issue of depletion of energy, depo storage and also the problem of the impact on the character of the landscape was discussed. |
Other activity that contributed to achieving our goals was the visit to Křižik Historical Power Station in Písek. It helped the students to see the machines in action and the historical aspect of using the energy in the Czech countries as well as in Europe.
The result of our efforts was documented in a brochure about sunpower and the use of solar energy in our republic. This brochure is in English and willl serve other students to get to know main information about alternative sources of energy. |
